Figs
have always been one of my favorite fruits. They bring back so many memories of me as a child, running around at my grandma's place, being hungry but not wanting to go inside and eat. So, what would a hungry child do? Eat as many fruits as you can to suffice the crumbling tummy! Figs was one of those life savers in time of need. I'm currently in a little time of need (because of my Shingles), so they're looked at as comfort food. Thank God for trees that actually produce figs :)I had to have breakfast alone this morning so I don't spread my virus. I miss hugging and kissing my kiddos :(

A Sad Day...
because I have Shingles :( I'm taking the meds for it, but I have to call my doctor Friday to inform her of the any updates. If rash becomes a certain way then perhaps it's a skin infection. I'm hoping it is a skin infection BUT later this evening my daughter Key began getting little red dots on her body. I'm SO sad because IF I do have Shingles then I infected her with chickenpox! Arrrrggg!!! I'm trying not to feel like it is all my fault, but I need grace to help us get through this little trial.

Don't Forget Your Fruits and Vegetables
I initially cut the apple shape out and left my idea stranded. I actually got back to it, and made a little cute apple. It was suppose to be a brooch but decided to make a hair piece.
Just a friendly reminder to eat your five a day! We need to fight the nasty viruses and bacteria going around. My son is sick, and other church families. Let's keep fighting these sicknesses with prayer and love :)

Thrifty Finds
Hand held mirrors are just darling. I've purchased a couple from ebay, and I'm always looking for cheap, adorable treasures. I'd love to have a mini wall of beautiful, interesting, hand-held mirrors. I must say, I like mirrors in general.
For some odd reason my household is being plagued with sickness. My son Rock was sick, then my daughter Key, then myself, and now my son Rock again! There really is joy in everything, even when it doesn't seem like it. In everything give thanks (1 Thess5:18).

Sick-and-Seat
With the swine flu pandemic, I've been more cautious of Rock and Key. Which is a step towards insanity, since I'm already a bacteria freak. Rock began with the sniffles, which I started to suspect we were heading down the route of boogiemonters (the assigned name to his runny noise friends), coughing, sneezing, etc. Two days later with a full blow flu, he began wheezing. I phoned the nurse and she got me an appointment the same day. After the doctor ran some tests, she determined he had slight pneumonia. He now has two medications, plus med's for his breathing nebulizer.
With Halloween around the corner, we'll see if he'll join in festivities. I was so excited for him and Key to tour the town in their costumes that I made, but I don't want to hold on to it too tightly. If he doesn't go trick-or-treating, and has to sit out this year, perhaps Key will just go all by her lonesome without her partner :(
Lord help Rock get better, and most importantly help our faith in you and in your goodness get stronger. In Jesus Christ name, amen.

It's hard...
to be joyful when you don't feel good. I've felt not only sick, but even sad that I feel this way. God is continuing to remind me of others who suffer because of the same morning sickness or even worse, for the sake of the gospel. Others who willingly sacrifice their lives to tell others of the surpassing beauty, and attainable love of Jesus, through what Christ did on the cross. It's also been allowing me to reflect on the irony done on the cross--the unimaginable pain, and the sweet love of the Father! Thank you Jesus.

A Little Scared...
I'm getting my wisdom teeth pulled today, and I'm a bit nervous! Actually... a lot nervous :( Many who have done this either feel the pain, or think I'm silly, either way, if y'all can pray for me. Thanks!
