Happy 1/2 birthday!

It's suppose to be our family tradition to celebrate half birthdays but we have not done a great job in celebrating.  SO this time we shall celebrate for the happiest baby we know!

Veggie Tales

Getting kids to eat there vegetables can be a trying task.  Our first crack at it was with Rock when he began to eat.  As a baby he liked the smashed vegetables, and we stayed away from the smashed fruit for awhile, we wanted to train his palate to veggies first.  As he grew, it began to change, he strived to stay away from the vegetables, but we did not give up and at times made him.  I know this differs with many parents approach but we were adamant not to let Rock get his way.  Now, he eats veggies, not all but he has his favorites (broccoli, asparagus, snap peas, corn & carrots).  Key, on the other hand, was a swell child when it came to vegetables.  She also has favorites but it wasn't as challenging with her.  I'm SO thankful these kiddos can grab a handful of snaps peas and eat em right up with no problem.  We just kept at it and didn't give up, of course it is extremely helpful when they see mommy and daddy eat them up to....Well, more mommy then daddy :)  We do give in to little treats, especially since mommy has a cupcake addiction, and daddy a chocolate chip cookie one, BUT veggies are cherished, bring much praises/cheers, eaten daily, and talked about often.

Loving to Cook

Most kids love cooking or some how being involved in the process.  This little man loves it and begs to be involved.  I really want him to learn to cook, enjoy it, and be health conscious.  We'll see how it turns out :)

Walking Around

Being cooped up in our apartment could make me a little crazy but taking walks around our neighborhood has been refreshing for the kids and myself, and not to mention a little exercise for all.
My precious Story loves taking walks.  Maybe she thinks she's back in the womb with all the noise and movement.  I love her!

Rock Writing

As most kids do, my Rock collects sticks, pine cones, and rocks (no pun intended).  And as most parents, you never know what to do with them, but throw them away or set them aside somewhere.  I got a great idea from apartmenttherapy (or ohdeedoh) but couldn't find the old post (sorry).  Well, Rock and I began writing on his rock collection and displayed it in a class jar in the kids bathroom.  I'm no artist but we were both pleased with the outcome :)

Still feeling contractions but they're not strong enough, but uncomfortable and not consistent, but has been happening since Saturday afternoon.  Hopefully this little girl will decide to come out, but for now she's unpredictable!

Ohdeedoh

To my surprise, my bassinet cover idea for my daughter Story was on Ohdeedoh, although seeing from the comments, it was met with a bit of controversy (sorry didn't mean to).  I understand, but seeing that this is my third child, I see this absolutely fine for my family, BUT perhaps not with yours, which is completely fine and respectable:)

Thrifty Finds

One of my thrifty finds on Valentine's Day.  I saw it and immediately loved this colorful tray.  It's now displayed in my kids room (I'll show that on another day :)  This little treasure was just a $1...Amazing!  Don't you just LOVE thrifty finds?

Keys

Anticipating our future move, and finally being able to decorate how I envision somethings, I began working on a little project for my daughter, Key's room, hence the skeleton fabric keys.  This was just an experiment. Anyhoo, I like them.

Since I really want to move, God has been teaching me to be patient and not be so antsy.  I feel like I'm in the "nesting mode" and I want to fix stuff, but to be honest I don't want to go through all the trouble of decorating IF we'll be moving soon.  I guess it was my fault to begin with since I never wanted to stay here too long, and never wanted to decorate our place.  I should have, it would have felt more homey to me.  It's okay now,  it's a learning process.  I will still plan, create, and dream of things I'd like done, but for now patience is what God is teaching me :)

Rainy Day Schedule

Rainy day schedule calls for...

the family taking a morning walk, to be happily greeted by rain, in which mommy stands in the middle of it, and beckons for the fam to join and enjoy!

a trip to the library...in our pj's :)

some prep for crafting...

Rock building a monumental home out of anything he can find.

Rain is just grand.  According to my mother, I was born when it was raining, that's why I think I was born for it ; )

Good Times in LA

We were able to take grandma to the Griffith Observatory and spend some quality time with her.
