City Search...

throughout all of Los Angeles, for anything that catches my eye around my city that is random, beautiful, inspiring, weird, and the list goes on.

These creepy eyes remind me of the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984).  Big Brother watches...

Moving

this whole week.  Why does my lovely husband have to have so many books!  He's a book worm :)  My efforts will be trying to pack up, and settle into our new place.  We'll see how that goes.

City Search...

I found these cute wiggly guys in a parking lot, the lot was closed so had to capture images at a distance.  Not sure which business this lot belongs to.  These little guys caught my eye, plus I think they're suppose to be dancing, so...wiggly guys dancing + top hats = eye catchers!

City Search...

I've decided to document some of Los Angeles' street art, or anything that catches my eye, around my city that is random, beautiful, inspiring, weird, and the list goes on.  I finally had the camera in toe to be able to get this going.  Hope you are just as interested in what is around LA.  Here we go!

Found in an alley off of Sunset and Hillhurst.

Cupcake Tasting...

Still venturing into the unknown land of cupcakes.  Finally tried Dots Cupcakes, and I must say-- disappointed.  I didn't even like the look of them, they had cheesy decorations, and cake not moist enough.

Verdict- 6 out of 10

Walking Around

Being cooped up in our apartment could make me a little crazy but taking walks around our neighborhood has been refreshing for the kids and myself, and not to mention a little exercise for all.
My precious Story loves taking walks.  Maybe she thinks she's back in the womb with all the noise and movement.  I love her!

A Fun Scoop

I recently tried the fun ice cream of Scoops. It's an ice cream parlor with a bit of eccentric (read more here). They serve a plethora of selections such as: strawberry balasmic vinger, brown bread, raspberry pomegranate, salted caramel, pistachio cinnamon, bacon caramel, and orange tiramisu, are just to name a few. In case you mosey on over, be mindful which day you go, because the menu changes daily, except for brown bread, it's a neighborhood favorite.
My scoop of brown bread (bottom), and another of raspberry pomegranate. I enjoyed the first, but not so much the latter. Scoops is a must try!

Our City

Today was unexpectedly used by God...

We all went to the park to exercise, and before leaving a lady was shouting in Spanish if anyone wanted free bread. Out of curiosity I headed over there. She told me she gets tons of bread through her church. I told her I was also part of a local church too. She wanted my information because she'd like to give us her excess breads so we can give out to the homeless community or use it as a church. She gave me a huge bag with about 15 various breads. PJ, the kids, and I headed to a bridge where there are a handful of homeless people. We tried to get them to come out to us from their squatter homes, but it seemed like no one was there. Before heading back home, we saw a man sleeping near the bridge, I asked him if he wanted some bread and he kindly said yes! We began talking to him and he said he'd just gotten a job down the street and would love to treat us at his restaurant. Before leaving we'd asked him if he needed anything and he said he needed a room to rent for $400-$450 and if we can help him look for a place. We were excited and said we'd meet up with him tomorrow. I started looking on Craigslist for a place and a few have poped up. Lord willing we can help get him into a place. We'll hopefully be seeing him tomorrow but we decided we don't want him to treat us but we just want to continue building a relationship with him. God is working in our hearts and using CrossView to reach our city people, little, by little.
