Seattle-Day 2

Seattle is just too lovely.  Armed with our list of "to do's" we painted the town red.  First up, the much talked about Pike's Market Place...
Our eatery stop at, Michou, a fine pasta, sandwich shop.
Absolutely yumlicious!
Next on list...
the acclaimed Russian pastry spot- Piroshky Piroshky
Another yum!
Next... of course the Starbucks that started it all...
Then, a little tiny shopping :)
She was great, we love her so and glad she was our tourist partner.
Next up... awesome Thrifty Finds!
Lovely excited to see Atari game console.
Had to stop to refuel at Hi-Life, a unique spot because of its building being an old fire station...wish I could live in it!
And last on our list for the night, "Seattle's Best Cupcake" Cupcake Royale
The verdict---
their "Red Velvet," a 5 out of 10!  Very disappointing.  They got NOTHING on Sprinkles!
To end the night (yes, it's this bright out at 9:45PM!) a beautiful drive up to see the sun set with the generous Mr. & Mrs. Robertsons (the couple PJ was staying with for a weekend each month).  A productive, wonderful, non- exhausting day.  We were thankful to God for this vacation, he is much too kind.

Grad Nite

My first day in the wonderful land of Seattle, I was smitten by the geography.  I would love to live here! But my lovely hubby said no :(

With no time a'wasting, for lunch, before Lovely's graduation...

we headed over to the much talked about hoggie spot, Tat's.  We both enjoyed our hoggies, very yummy.
Then mingling before the ceremony at MarsHill Church in downtown.
Story congratulating her abba
and encouraging him to press on.

After, we were charmed with a dinner cruise around Seattle with all of the graduates and their wives.
Story taking some attention with her much talked about hair do :)
Gawking views of the city.
Making friends and celebrating our husbands accomplishments.
With all their goofing off, you'd think, "what did they accomplish???"
A swell night.  Meeting some of the wives was a definite highlight.  Some amazing, encouraging ladies.  God was too kind.

Loving to Cook

Most kids love cooking or some how being involved in the process.  This little man loves it and begs to be involved.  I really want him to learn to cook, enjoy it, and be health conscious.  We'll see how it turns out :)

Thrifty Finds

Been a while since I've put up some of my nifty thrifty store treasures.  Don't let the hiatus fool you, I've just been holding out since life has been full of babies, and a toddler ;)
This turquoise beauty I saw and snatched up right away.  I'd like to get a nice house plant and make this its home.

Planning for Rain

Soon we will be off to the beautiful city of Seattle!  PJ will be graduating and then we'll stay a few extra days to explore.  This city fascinates me for various reasons, one being the fact that it is gloomy and rainy...which I absolutely l-o-v-e!  I know it's late but I started planning our few days there, and it's exciting.  Unfortunately not all five of us will go, it will just be my lovely hubby, Story and myself.  Happy planning :)

Dainty Giveaway

Before Story was born I was pleasantly surprised with a fun giveaway from my kind friend Camille.  Her banner giveaway was simple, cute, and dainty.  We will display it proudly.  Thanks again Camille!
Love the fun fabric!

Cheese Sandwich Revamp

A tasty, interesting treat.  I found this simple recipe in a fitness magazine.  It's basically a revamp of a cheese sandwich.
Instead of butter, use olive oil to coat bread.  I used "sprouted grain bread."  Spread a little of jelly inside both bread halves, you can use a sugar free jelly, or better yet, a homemade jelly.  Add cheese, then slices of peach!  Yes, peach.  I added a little more cheese on top of the peach so everything keeps together.  Then, place on heated grill, and whalah!  Not bad, perhaps a little too weird for your taste, but I love cheese so it worked for me :)  Try it.

Walking Around

Being cooped up in our apartment could make me a little crazy but taking walks around our neighborhood has been refreshing for the kids and myself, and not to mention a little exercise for all.
My precious Story loves taking walks.  Maybe she thinks she's back in the womb with all the noise and movement.  I love her!
